On the sacking spree President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Dakuku Peterside, an ally to the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). The President also approved the appointment of the current Executive Director, Administration and Finance, Bashir Jamoh, as the new Director General. Dakuku Peterside, who was appointed by the President Buhari administration in 2016, is expected to end his tenure on March 10, 2020. The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi and Dakuku Peterside, Director General of Nigeria Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been accused by a member of the House of Representatives, Julius Pondi from Delta State of 'manipulate' projects with the position of their offices. The lawmaker, Julius Pondi said that the duo were making plans to move the floating dock facility intended for Okerenkoko, Delta state to Rivers state.
