The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will today be leading members of the pro-Biafra group to the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) holding in New York. Nigerian Army General, Otiki, goes on trial over alleged N.4billion scandal

The Nigerian Army has begun the trial of former General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, Sokoto, Major General Hakeem Otiki, over an alleged N400 million stolen by some soldiers under his command. Five soldiers of Operation Harbin Kunama III were confirmed to have absconded with the money while escorting it from Sokoko on July 11, 2019, en route Abuja. A former minister for women affairs, Jumai Alhassan popularly known as “Mama Taraba” has dumped the United Democratic Party, UDP for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Alhassan, at a meeting in her Jalingo Residence, explained that her defection to the PDP was based on an opinion poll carried out at a stakeholders’ meeting. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Friday raised the alarm over the delay by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to release the record of its judgment to enable the party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to promptly file an appeal to upturn the judgment at the Supreme Court. Federal lawmakers from Rivers on Monday staged a peaceful protest to demonstrate their grievances over President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged total abandonment of the oil-rich state.
